Thrive Internship
Program Purpose
- The purpose of the Gateway Mission’s Thrive Internship Program is to provide a safe, supportive, and structured substance-free environment for men and women desiring to live as disciples of Jesus Christ while learning to serve others.
- This program is offered in a drug-free and alcohol-free setting with coaching, supervision, and accountability to maintain a positive and safe atmosphere.
- It is for those who want to take their walk with God to a higher level, to discover their purpose in life, and to use their gifts and abilities to serve God while they prepare for independent living in the community.
- A desire to build relationships and participate in Thrive Community.
Eligibility Requirements
- Graduation from the Gateway Mission’s Forge Program.
- Must have the ability to pay a monthly ministry fee.
- Demonstrated desire to continue with personal and spiritual growth and accountability.
- Commitment to a local church and genuine desire to live a fruitful Christian life in service to God and others.
Program Principles
Biblical Discipleship
Applying the principles of God’s Word to relationships, decision-making, and use of time, talents, and treasure.
Responsibility/Accountability
Developing a lifestyle of honesty, integrity, and personal responsibility in the areas of finances, relationships, employment, sober living, and home management.
Relationships
Developing healthy and giving relationships with others in one’s living environment, the surrounding community, the Body of Christ, and with one’s family and friends (a life of independence while building a lifestyle of interdependence within the Body of Christ).
Spiritual Growth and Maturity
Growing in one’s relationship with God, living in victory over sinful and un-Christlike habits, and becoming a mature and fruitful Christian.
Lifelong Learning
Remaining teachable, willing to receive counsel from others, and committed to a lifelong process of learning and growth as part of a Christian community.
Church Involvement
Active and faithful participation in a biblically-sound local church and developing personal relationships with members and leaders of that church.
